About Boston and the Venues

Boston is a big city with a small city feel. It's beautiful and historic, drawing millions of visitors each year. These people don't come just for the tango ;), but also to watch the Red Sox, visit Faneuil Hall, the Public Gardens, and famous sites of the American Revolution.

Across the Charles River from Boston, in Cambridge, you'll find Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, two of the most importart institutions of higher learning in the world today. MIT will host Tango de los Muertos's opening night milonga, so you'll get to rub shoulders (and bellies) with some of those MIT smarties. Thursday night's milonga takes place in Lobdell Hall in the Stratton Student Center.

The rest of the weekend's activities take place in the beautiful new arts center, Springstep, at 98 George P. Hassett Drive in Medford, MA. Medford is a quiet suburb just four miles north of downtown Boston. It's nice to walk around, has tasty restaurants, and there's an excellent hotel right next to Springstep, the newly-renovated Hyatt Place. It's easy to drive from Medford to tourist sites in Boston and Cambridge, but on November 9-11, 2007, because of Tango de los Muertos, Medford will become the hub of Boston's coolest locals and most fascinating visitors, so you'll probably want to stick around.
