Lodging
The Hyatt Place Hotel is now completely sold out! There are no more rooms available, at any price, for Friday and Saturday nights of the festival. If you are still looking for a hotel we have some suggestions below, however, you will need a car.
Are you traveling from far away? Our hospitality chair, Juliet Droege, will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. Please contact her at <jltdrg at yahoo dot com>, or 919-672-5843.
Staying in a Hotel
Many people are staying at the Hyatt Place hotel next to Springstep (which is why it is sold out!).
They are located at 116 Riverside Ave, Medford, and can be contacted at 781-395-8500. If you have a
room there and plan to cancel your reservation for any reason, please, please put a note on the
Forum to be nice to someone who might need it!!
For budget-friendly hotels, you're going to want to look North of Medford: in Malden, Revere,
and on the 128/I-93 corridor. See the map.
You might try the Courtyard
Marriott in Revere or the Sheraton in
Wakefield.
Somerville, a cool part of Boston wedged between Cambridge and Medford, has two good hotels, La
Quinta Inn and Suites and Holiday
Inn but you probably won't be able to get rooms there for less than $149 a night.
You might also try Priceline.com to see if
you can get an awesome deal.
Staying with the Locals
There is limited housing available with local Boston tango dancers. To request local housing, you will need to post a message on our Forum. If you stay with a local we hope that you can rent a car. If money's really tight you should be able to get away without one, you'll just have to plan extra time in each day for public transportation. Some hosts have cars and others rely on public transportation to get around, but even those with cars may not be going to the same events as you are. The subway doesn't run all the way to Springstep so you'll have to take a bus or a combination of subway and bus. At night you should be able to carpool or can take a cab. See the Transportation page for more information on how to get around. If you stay at the Hyatt Place, you'll be fine without a car.
